It Bites

I went to see Cumbrian prog rock legends It Bites last night. It was a ’special’ gig at Carlisle Art college , being filmed by a small army of camera men for a forthcoming live DVD release.

I last saw IT Bites in 1986, so this was really an excuse for a trip down memory lane.  The opening act was Jon Amor a bluesman from Devizes in Wiltshire, (home of the delta blues?) . Poor fella had one or two technical hitches to deal with but managed to pull off a convincing set – I particularly liked his cover of Tainted Love (in a blues stylee of course).

Sig Files

Wisestamp

It’s been narking me that there isn’t in-built support for HTML formatted sig files in Gmail. So I went off and found a solution. Wisestamp – plugin/addon for Firefox and Chrome browsers. Pretty Neat.

Result! Just booked a holiday aboard the Yasawa Princess, crusing in the Maldives. Now just have to get through a few months of drudgery at work…..still at least I have some top notch scuba diving to look forward to now!

Tragically Hip Glasgow Garage

I’ve listened to and followed Tragically Hip since their ‘93 album, Fully Completely. Finally, I got the chance to see them live this week at Glasgow Garage. The last time I went to the venue it was called ‘Tiffanys’ . On that Occasion I saw an upcoming Irish band ….U2.

Tragically Hip were fantastic – even better than I had hoped for. 2 sets – over 2.5 hours on stage. The audience loved it. Great sound too.
