It Bites
by cushty on Feb.13, 2010, under Music Stuff
I went to see Cumbrian prog rock legends It Bites last night. It was a ’special’ gig at Carlisle Art college , being filmed by a small army of camera men for a forthcoming live DVD release.
I last saw IT Bites in 1986, so this was really an excuse for a trip down memory lane. The opening act was Jon Amor a bluesman from Devizes in Wiltshire, (home of the delta blues?) . Poor fella had one or two technical hitches to deal with but managed to pull off a convincing set – I particularly liked his cover of Tainted Love (in a blues stylee of course).
Sig Files

It’s been narking me that there isn’t in-built support for HTML formatted sig files in Gmail. So I went off and found a solution. Wisestamp – plugin/addon for Firefox and Chrome browsers. Pretty Neat.

Tragically Hip Glasgow Garage
by cushty on Dec.05, 2009, under Music Stuff
I’ve listened to and followed Tragically Hip since their ‘93 album, Fully Completely. Finally, I got the chance to see them live this week at Glasgow Garage. The last time I went to the venue it was called ‘Tiffanys’ . On that Occasion I saw an upcoming Irish band ….U2.
Tragically Hip were fantastic – even better than I had hoped for. 2 sets – over 2.5 hours on stage. The audience loved it. Great sound too.
